Like many of you out there, I once dreamed (and still do) of becoming a firefighter. Though the life of a firefighter might be tough, one can’t deny the fact that they get to play with some amazing toys in their line of work. Flickr user S Asbury seems to share this love towards fire trucks and has built an astonishing LEGO Panther Airport Fire Truck.
This truck is the second member of S Asbury’s Airport Fire Truck collection and it’s based on the Rosenbauer Panther 8×8 CA7. The Panther is the flagship of the Rosenbauer airport vehicle fleet and it is capable of carrying 3,830 gallons of fire extinguishing agents and travelling a maximum speed of 87 mph (140 km/h).
As for the build itself, S Asbury states that it uses several SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques, which is what helps give it such a realistic look to it. Similarly, not only does the have a smooth look to it, but it also nails the original color scheme of the real life model. Airport fire trucks are known to have a vibrant neon green color and Asbury’s model is no exception. Additionally, the truck also includes LEGO flashing light features with battery box connected to lights on the front and back on top of the rig.
Below you’ll find more images of Asbury’s Fire Truck. I do, however, encourage you to check out his Flickr Photostream if you are a fire truck fan, as Asbury has a bunch of other cool builds.
